Employment Opportunity – Proposal Writer/Workflow Coordinator/Technical Writer

This multi-disciplined position will provide support for three critical areas in HKA operations.

OJT is offered for any or all of these duties as they relate specifically to HKA operations.

Occasional travel may be required to participate in various project meetings.

Proficiency in; English composition, MS Office products and the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance required.

Proposal Writing Support

  • Researches Department of Defense (DoD) solicitation requirements, writes, edits & develops proposal responses for HKA and HKA customers in accordance with solicitation content/format specifications
  • Reviews and interprets solicitation packages including Requests for Information (RFI), Sources Sought Announcements, Market Research documents and Requests for Proposal (RFP) to develop comprehensive, compliant proposal outlines and templates
  • Gathers the appropriate inputs needed to successfully complete proposal request, interacting with HKA and HKA customer departments as necessary
  • Formats documents in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat in accordance with solicitation requirements

Workflow Coordination

  • Tracking and coordinating project tasks in support of HKA Production Management.
    • Compile new project work folder and management tools/forms
    • Coordinate internal start of work meetings for new projects
    • Maintain MS Access Production status dB
    • Maintain delivery schedules
    • Review customer Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
    • Department-to-department work folder pass thru review
    • Support production status meetings
    • Support project technical reviews

Technical Writing Support

  • Writing, editing & developing technical manuals for various DoD weapon systems and related support Equipment (SE) covering maintenance, operation, repair, theory of operation & troubleshooting in accordance with military content/format specifications.
  • Maintenance experience with military aircraft and their support equipment preferred.
  • Read & analyze engineering drawings & schematics to understand maintenance concept & operation of equipment to the piece part level required.

Employment Opportunity – Life Cycle Logistician

The Life Cycle Logistician will be responsible for expanding our suite of logistics service offerings to assist in the planning, development, implementation, and management of effective and affordable weapon system support strategies.

The Life Cycle Logistician will be responsible for performing Product Data Analysis and developing resultant Logistics Product Data for DoD weapon systems and their support equipment.

Logistics Product Data is developed in accordance with the specifications GEIA-STD-0007, MIL-STD-1388-1A/2B, MIL-PRF-49506 as required, utilizing automated LPD database software to capture and organize the data for reporting and delivery products.

Typical LPD developed and analyses performed include but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance Planning and Task Analysis
  • Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
  • Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD)
  • Provisioning Parts Lists (PPL)
  • Maintenance Plans (MaPl)

Maintenance experience with military aircraft and their support equipment preferred.

Familiarity with DoD Operation & Maintenance technical manual content and format specifications and technical manual development preferable.

Infrequent travel required to participate in logistics events. Proficiency in MS Office products and ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance required

Employment Opportunity – Technical Writer

Writing, editing & developing technical manuals for various DoD weapon systems and related support Equipment (SE) covering maintenance, operation, repair, theory of operation & troubleshooting in accordance with military content/format specifications.

Incorporate data using logistics and engineering information such as Maintenance Plans, Provisioning Parts Lists, SERDs, Special Tools Lists, performance specifications, engineering drawing packages, Bills of Material, etc…

Understanding of Source Maintenance & Recoverability codes as used by US Military and their relationship/impact on Technical Manual Group Assembly Parts Lists, Illustrated Parts Breakdowns and their related Operation and Maintenance procedures preferred.

Required to travel infrequently to participate in TM reviews & logistics events.

Proficiency in MS Office products and ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance required.

Employment Opportunity – Proof Reader/QA

Experienced proofreading of technical documentation skills. Familiarity with DoD technical manuals desirable. Well developed eye for consistency. Good spelling & grammar skills.

Employment Opportunity – Desktop Publisher

Desktop Publisher must be experienced in document formatting skills using electronic formatting software such as MS Word or equivalent and possess good grammar skills while exercising thorough attention to detail.

Familiarity with DoD technical manuals or other maintenance or operational technical manuals dealing with aircraft and their support equipment desirable.

Experience or training with electronic desktop publishing software or XML/SGML structured authoring tool is preferred.

Training or experience working with & editing DTDs, FOSIs, XSLTs & Stylesheets desirable.

Experience or training in technical illustrating, CAD or graphic design a plus.

Proficiency in MS Office products, particularly MS Word is required.

Must be able to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.
